Singer Cheryl Cole says she's glad she did not have kids with ex-husband Ashley, as they would have suffered in the break-up.

'I've got to take everything that's happened and learn from it,' mirror.co.uk quoted her as telling a magazine.

'And I've just got to be grateful that I've got so many good things going on. I have. And there's no children, you know?

'Of course it's heartbreaking, but it's not anything remotely like it could have been and I'm very, very thankful for that. Some people's lives fall apart, are turned upside down,' she added.
