Indiana cop pays $5 entry fee to make arrest at fair

    (ANI)

An Indiana policeman was reportedly made to pay an entry fee of five dollars to enter the LaPorte County Fair so that he could make an arrest.

According to the Herald-Argus, LaPorte County Sheriff's Department Sergeant Mike Kellems tried to get into the fair to take an escapee into custody just after 5 in the evening.

But he was not allowed to enter by a private security firm at the gate and was asked to pay the admission fee.

Sergeant Kellems paid the entry and Robert Aubin, 23, was arrested.

"I think there's some common sense that got overlooked there," the Courier Mail quoted Gene Shurte, of LaPorte County Fair as saying. (ANI)
